How do you write your first blog post for your new travel bag company in the midst of a 100-year pandemic and the largest civil rights protests since the 1960’s?

We are two friends who had a vision, a passion for travel, and a desire to create something timeless, functional, and beautiful. We decided to go for it…and then the world stopped.

There are many intelligent, articulate people raising our collective awareness of systemic racism, inequality and the health of our planet and the human race. Talking about dreams of travel and having the perfect bag as a companion seems empty. Yet, when the time is right, we will talk about our experiences and how travel and exposure to other cultures has helped us recognize some of our own biases and opened our minds to our shared humanity.

But that time is not now. Instead, we are inspired by Trevor Noah’s video about the dominos of racial injustice. We are hopeful when we listen to Bill Gates’ Ted Talk on how to plan for and mitigate the impacts of future pandemics. And we are optimistic that we will learn from our mistakes and emerge from these times even stronger, imagining a future where we are globally connected once again.

We look forward to growing our business as a company committed to change, equality and inclusion…and to doing our part to make this planet a better, more sustainable place to live.
